Philanthropic Revolution

This article was about how big names in the technology world, such as Mark Zuckerburg, are donating large amounts of money to different causes and charities. This is a growing trend among young technological giants because they are already used to taking risks as shown with their companies, so they’re not afraid to take risks for a charitable cause.
I feel like this is a very admirable gesture because it shows that not all of the rich CEO’s are a part of the greedy stereotype and perhaps these young leaders of the world can start a trend for other people who have more than enough money. They are turning what made them rich and famous into something that can benefit those who are less fortunate, through social networking and other websites. This is a huge thing because every day, social networking becomes more persistent in society and it is an easy way to access thousands, even millions of different people to help out a certain cause. Mark Zuckerburg was the main example in this article because he donated the most money out of everyone, but in second place was eBay founder Pierre Omidyar.
By applying what they are good at in a philanthropic way, this movement can provide others in the world to do the same thing. Whether it’s something as small as crafting goods for sales that will go to charity or a rich CEO who can turn their expertise into something charitable, it will all make a difference. I believe that people don’t realize that they are capable of creating change in the world or raising money for a good cause, but you don’t need a lot of money take on a project like that. All it takes is hard work and dedication.
