Racism

http://www.isreview.org/issues/32/racism.shtml

Why is so hard for people today to not discriminate according to a persons race? Racism is the hatred towards another race or creed solely based on personal views. There have been many examples in history of nations leaders who were racist and where did it get them? You would think by now in the year of 2013 this would be an isolated problem.

Adolph Hitler is one of the most infamous racists in world history. His idea of producing a master race superior to all others was simply a personal viewpoint in which he got others to listen. Hitlers system was to one by one eradicate all other races bute at the same time take a hands on approach in selecting which german citizens could mate with each other. His doctors did evil experiments on the jews all with the approach on how to learn to manufacture a better and superior german.

Another example of a racist operation is the klu klux klan with is predominately in the south of the united states. These hate groups run people by putting fear into any other race other than white. They use scare tactics and violence to get them to succomb to their order.

One thing all these groups have in common is that they are not born with the hate in them; it is something that is taught. Generation after generation these simplistic ideals are passed down to their children usually by non educated morans. Of course, as a kid you have no choice but to go along with it or face punishment and violence yourself.

The idea of breaking the chain is not an idea in the clouds but is a realistic goal that can be attained by kindness and love for all races. We are all on this earth for only a short time so why not try to change the world. Remember the next time you see hatred, why not just go over and tell them its ok and that you are not mad at them for feeling this way but that there is a better and far more better way to work together. We are all Gods children after all.

  1. I agree that racism is not something you are born with but something that is taught therefore technically it can be stopped but most likely never will be. Close-mindedness is the main reason racism still exists today. It still exists due to people who have a hard time trying to get over the past.

  2. Personally I have been a victim of racism and believe me, it is not a good feeling. It is true that you would think by now people would know to work together despite how a person’s skin looks. But in reality there will always be a form of racism. Racism has been passed down through the generations, and each generation has their own interpretation on what racism is. I do admit that it is not as bad as it was in the past, but it still should not be as bad as it is.

  3. I feel like racism has come about because of sheer ignorance. Honestly, we are all one in the same no matter where we’re from, what language we speak, or what color our skin is. We are all human beings that live on the same Earth, and we all have emotions. Put in modern terms, it is almost silly to even think about race any more. Yes it is used to classify different groups of people, but are we all really that different? People should stop seeing American, Mexican, Black, White, German, etc. and instead, just see people for who they are; human beings.

  4. What is funny about this article is the same thing I find ironic about a lot of articles. It always seems like the race classified as "whites" are the only perpetrators, when in fact all races are guilty of racism, but I know and understand how this came about.

For so long "whites" were the perpetrators but as the laws changed and wrongs were turned into rights so many of those who had been on the receiving end of racism turned their children against the race that committed the crime even though the new generations of the originally giving race were being taught to accept everybody. The tables essentially turned.

There are also tons of mix race children these days that racism should be a thing of the past. I myself am a mix between Caucasian and Hispanic, but I went to a predominately African American school and was the victims of racist acts on several different occasions. Does that mean that I hate those people - No - It means that I have to work harder to teach my children the very thing that you wrote about. We are all equal and should be viewed equal regardless of race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.

I have friend from all different races from all over the world. I have met some of the most incredible people in my time in the military and if I had not been accepting of all people I never would have made those connections. People miss out on so much in life when they are close-minded.
