Tecoma says NO to McDonald's!!

McDonald’s is a fast food franchise that initially began in the United States. This restaurant has become very popular and successful that these restaurants have crossed our borders and have gone to other countries. McDonald’s can be found anywhere from London, China, Australia, and even in the freezing temperatures of Alaska. They are all over the world.

McDonald’s has recently been planning to build a new restaurant in Tecoma. Tecoma is a small town found in Australia. The community of Tecoma is actually opposed to the idea. The community strongly believes that the restaurant “Maccas” or McDonald’s will just cause environmental, crime and health problems. Something that Tecoma is known for is their scenery and its natural beauty. The residents think that adding a McDonald’s will disturb the peace. Trees are going to be cleared out in order to build the new restaurant. They are also concerned for the health of their children. McDonald’s food is not the healthiest.

If I were to be the head of McDonald’s, I would have left Tecoma alone. These residents are very passionate about not having a restaurant in their town because they have been protesting since 2011. The community as even made a website called Burger Off and a Facebook page to promote their cause. Why are you going to build one if people against it? I would imagine that there is going to be a loss of money, instead of making a profit. I am happy to say that the franchise actually backed out of the project. The moral of the story is to say that whenever you disagree with something, FIGHT FOR IT! TAKE ACTION!
